And there was some dyepots going.
We used cochineal, madder, logwood and experimented with different mordants.
I used iron for my mordant. I got a nice plum color with the madder.
Look how different it looks with using a vinegar mordant. Pretty amazing huh?
That's the interesting thing about natural dyes - you just never know what you're going to end up with.
So we dyed and knitted and talked and enjoyed the summer day.
