Yarn Along

I missed crocheting that baby afghan so I decided to use some more scrap yarn and make another one. Adult size this time. This one will be for my daughter for when she moves out on her own. And since she has several years of nursing school yet to finish before she leaves the nest I have plenty of time. It's my mindless project right now.

And we won't discuss how many projects I'm working on right now. There are a lot and I'm perfectly happy with that. There's one for every mood.

Speaking of moods I heard about this book and had to download it.

It discusses why Denmark is the country with the happiest people. Some I understand and agree with. Some, errrr.....not so much? I'm halfway done and it's definitely an eye opener.

What are you knitting and reading?

I keep saying I am going to learn to crochet, maybe soon?
Great looking blanket Donna and congratulations to your daughter, nursing school is hard, one of my daughter in loves is in the program too.
Very interesting sounding book, I didn't know that about the Danish people.

I love your blanket, it's beautiful. I saw that book maybe on a recent yarn along post and thought it looked interesting too, maybe I can find it at the library!

That blanket is so pretty and reminds me of one my Nana knit for me when I was a girl. It was feather and fan with all the scraps she had from the many hats and mittens she made. That book sounds interesting, thanks for the recommendation.

I adore color and your blanket is colorful. Let's see, I'm finally wrapping up a project that has been hibernating for two years. It's a chevron scarf and yesterday I knit a few rows with my handspun yarn. That was a first! I'm a new spinner.

Oh, I'm on a total crochet blanket kick lately! I don't think I'll knit another blanket again, honestly! That'll be perfect for your daughter to take with her!

The colors in that blanket are to die for! I love crocheting blankets; in fact, I just finished one up--it's just the greatest feeling!

Hmmm, so what are some of their secrets to happiness? I think they spend a lot of time outside, don't they? I know the outdoors always brightens my mood.

I want to know what Kelly wants to know? What's their secrets? I know they have liberal family leave with pay!!!! That would have made us so happy as we juggled kids and jobs and pumping breastmilk and schedules for years.
I need to take your cue and just keep at my never ending blanket until it is done@!

I have so many projects going and so many books started. One project I just started - Great Divide shawl. I'm really liking this one! One of the books I'm reading and enjoying so much - "Be Frank With Me"...

Danish or not, we are about as happy as we make up our minds to be.

Thank you for your prayers; Julie is coming over the mountain to home today by ambulance.

Your blanket is amazing! What a great gift idea for your daughter!!! :) I love that you have a ton of projects on needles. I do too and for some reason I always feel guilty starting a new one. I should really not care and just enjoy the hobby!

I agree with Nancy, people are as happy as they allow themselves to be. I dislike when studies or theories suggest one group is this or that, especially when it comes to happiness. Happiness cannot be measured with any accuracy or control. The variables to happiness are too wide for true definition. And claims like these only end up making people question what is wrong, why aren't they happy. Cultures are different between countries and classes, so a blanket statement of happiness is really disingenuous.

Can you tell me what pattern you use for the blanket you are working on? Thanks!

Nothing wrong with having lots of projects on the go. Means you've got something to work on whatever your mood :) I like the colours you're using in this project

You are going to town on those crochet stripes! I'm horribly boring, I'm still on the same sweater and I'm occasionally thumbing through the Prisoner of Azkaban ... again.

Have you ever met someone with depression? Do you think we make up our minds to be unhappy? We're fighting like hell to be happy!
