It was a weekend full of friends and fiber! I got to attend my first Spa Weekend up in Freeport Maine. And for those of you wondering, we did not go to a "Spa". From what I'm told this weekend started with two women who wanted to get a way and knit and relax. It has since grown to epic proportions (two hotels worth of knitters actually - maybe more?). My friend only lives about 20 minutes from Freeport so we used her place as home base.
We did some shopping - of course. Check out this bread at "When Pigs Fly". There's over 30 to choose from.
Of course there were yarn stores to visit. And a fiber market at the hotel.
I'll show you my purchases later this week. There was a fashion show on Saturday night that left me feeling very inspired. Look at this shawl. I think it was called Dragons Fire? What a work of art.
There were lots of door prizes. Julie won a skein of yarn. As a matter of fact, we had a few nice people just come over and gift us things. I got a beautiful skein of yarn and a pretty pin. Knitters - they are awesome.
It was a pretty cool weekend.
Joining Karen.

Wow - what a weekend! All the fiber love and awesome knitters sound even better than going to a "Spa"!
Sounds wonderful, definitely my kind of weekend.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and I hope you will keep coming back!
A knitter's spa get away was just as lovely as I knew it would be. Yes, it must be repeated, you have the most awesome weekends!
you do go to the bestest of places full of fiber!! How nice to have a friend live close by and save on the lodging so you can spend more money on yarn...
