Our best friends rented the same house in South Chatham last week and invited us for a few days to relax. It was humid but not terribly so. It stayed in the 80's so it was perfect beach weather.
We visited Dennisport and found some cool stores. I can't believe somebody made this sculpture completely from sand.
Nicole found a new friend at the mini golf course.
We visited a clam shack of sorts by the sea in Sesuit Harbor and ate right here. If you go, BYOB. Which I kind of like - you can bring a cooler of beer and it's much cheaper.
These two goofballs enjoyed themselves. They have been friends since birth (3 weeks apart) and you can't find two kids with such opposite personalities. But it works and they get along.
My favorite part of the trip was waking everyone up to leave at 7 AM to go back to the beach to find some seals. It was a foggy morning so it was hard to get a good shot. Here was the best I could do. You can see how close to the shore they come.
And yes, I know - behind the seals are the hungry sharks. I'm not much of a beach swimmer but as usual the patrols were out in full force checking to make sure there were no sharks in search of lunch.
Not to mention that water was damn cold! Holy cow.
My biggest turn off about the Cape - the crowds. Oh my goodness it was crazy. We found the more quiet spots and that was perfect for me. I'm looking forward to finding some more next year. And yes, I did find a yarn store! We will chat about that another time. Enjoy your weekend!
