Last Weekending

Our spinning guild gets asked on occasion to spin at local events.  Imagine my happiness when we were asked to spin right in my own town of Tiverton at the Chace Cory House back on June 7th (I know - I'm a bit behind.  It's been a busy week).

Some people brought their dogs,  These people brought their pig.  He even did tricks for piggie treats. I was impressed.

Inside the house there are antiques such as spinning wheels, etc.  This yarn swift caught my eye.  It's made entirely out of whale bone.  Under normal circumstances it is locked up because of the value but they took it out for the day for us to admire.

The ties are made of silk.  It was such a work of art.

This quilt was in pristine condition - considering the fact that it was crafted in 1899.

They loved that we were willing to come and demonstrate - like it's such a chore for us!  They even invited us back in September.  I'm looking forward to it.

How was your weekend?

Joining Karen.

What a wonderful day! I would love to attend something like that - if they had it in our area.

How I wish I could travel north to be there in September when you go back, what a fun time you had there.
That is some yarn swift, wow!
And the pig!! I had a pet pick for many years named Vivian Leigh, who thought of herself as a 400 lb. dog!

What a fun experience! I get together with a small group of ladies to spin at our LYS on Fridays. I always enjoy when non-spinners stop in to the shop and I get to teach them about the craft.
