Yarn Along

In the attempt to meet my New Years intentions I went through my WIPs and organized,  ripped out what I didn't want to work on anymore, and started working on things that I wanted to.  Let's say that I have a lot of project bags in the rotation now.

My Christmas socks were started just before Christmas and they are my sock of choice these days. The stripes are hypnotic and the yarn is nice and sturdy yet soft.

I spent a lot of time catching up on my podcasts while working on them this past weekend.  When I am done they will be tucked away in my drawer ready for next Christmas.

It's never too early to start on this coming year's holiday season!

I have read nothing - I'm taking stock of what books I have and will decide what one I want to continue reading.  I will be purchasing no others until what I have (at least the ones on my iPad) have been read.

What are you reading and working on?  Share with us at Ginnys.

I love your attitude and actions - organize WIPs and read what you have. I will be putting these ideas into practice at my house this weekend. Great socks!

I should follow your lead, I have some WIPs I haven't worked on in ages. I really should just frog them so they stop taunting me.

Love your socks, they are turning out so great!

That is one of my goals for this year is to only work on current projects! No starting projects until current ones are finished. Which should give me a good 5 months of knitting...

I think knitting socks with stripes is one of the great joys of knitting. Oh, and those are really cute stitch markers.

I love those socks! And, while I think it's fun to knit with Christmas colors during December, it's even better to have a pair all ready to wear when the season arrives again. Because you know it will and it will be sooner than we want!

I love the socks, wonderful colours. You are quite inspirational reading what you have and organizing your WIPs.

The organization is awesome! Last year I said that I needed to finish the projects I had plus knit through all the yarn that I have been stockpiling (apparently in case of a yarn shortage), and now I am ready to try some new projects and buy some new yarn!

That is a good intention. And those socks look good enough to eat! I have one WIP (a 14-year WIP) I plan to rip out and re-imagine into something else this year, and I also plan to use up all (most? a lot? some?) of my stash.

Love your socks. You've reminded me that I have some really pretty yarns that need a second chance. Time for some serious frogging.

Hi Donna! It's been so long since I've been anywhere near my blog let alone visited you and my other blog friends. Happy new year and wishes for much happy knitting! I'm with you about projects this year and did the same thing you did (only I didn't frog anything)...just made a list prioritizing projects. Nothing new until I work my way through that list...do you think I can do it? :) I bought the first 8 Mitford books by Jan Karon at the Goodwill with some Christmas money and plan to enjoy them.
xo Lisa :)

Looks like great sock yarn. I too like it when it's sturdy but still a little soft - means I can wear them in wellies on long walks :) I'm using up yarn and working on a hat at the mo, but have just realised I won't have enough so I'll have to order some more!

I am reading the Maze Runner. Very slowly because it sucks up knitting time, but I promised my son I would. It's not bad.

I love your Christmas socks. I would totally work on those too, the yarn is dreamy looking and then I would rock them around the house bringing that Christmas spirit through the year :)

I do this often! Whenever I realize that I'm dreading knitting something every time I pick it up - I know it is time to rip it out and start on something different!! I've just started a Pimpelliese (sp?)....
