Secret Project

Last month I was working on a "Secret Project" that I couldn't really share until it was gifted. The recipient has it in her little 2 month old hands and now I can share. I gave you a little glimpse in yesterday's post but here it is in its entirety

It wasn't anything super fancy. A log cabin blanket for my new niece. 

I matched the colors to the fabric they were using for her nursery. They were aiming for a McKenzie Child's theme so I knew what I wanted to do. 

It needed to be lined. In the black and white checked fabric. Now those of you who know me realize that I hate to sew. And here's where mom comes in. She's a master seamstress. She made my clothes growing up, she still sews her curtains - and I'm talking professional valances. So she sat at her machine and sewed the lining in for me. 

I consider it a group effort sorta thing. 

I think what I like best is that most of the yarn is leftover from items I knit for her brother and sister.
