Yarn Along

I gave you a little sneak peek of my big cake of yarn on Monday.
And kinda left you hanging.  This has to be one of the funnest projects ever.  It's the Magic Cake Ruffle Shawl.  I'm not sure what it is that has me in love with this project - the fact that it is the ultimate stash buster
it is an easy pattern to memorize.
or that you can't wait to get to the next color to see how it will look.

There is a little bit of work to gather your yarn and cake it up altogether.  I actually think the most difficult thing was figuring out which colors would work well together.  I chose to use my sock yarn stash since it was by far my most massive.
Once you pick your colors and join them together with the magic knot you wind them into a cake and off you go.  Instant fun.
Reading this week - mostly checking out my Ply Magazine that I got for Christmas.
I plan to dig into it this weekend a little more.

So what's on your needles?  Let us know over at Ginnys!

How pretty Donna.
I am knitting a stash buster blanket using the same concept and love seeing each color change.
Next time I think I will have to follow you and knit a shawl.

I love the idea of stash busting projects. I desperately need to sort out my yarn baskets. This is such a fun one to do. I can't wait to see the end results.

Ply magazine is new to me...I'm just going to do a quick google search.
Happy stash busting

I love shawls! I wish I had the patience for knitting, because i love the end results. My daughters each have a shawl I made for them several years ago...they are both some of their most worn items of clothes. I can't wait to make them bigger ones, hopefully in 2014.
