Yarn Along

We have got some progress.  For the most part I have been working exclusively on my Sophisticate Sweater.  I completed one sleeve and am working on the second one.
I have learned a couple of things while knitting sleeves.  The more you decrease the faster they go.  Which makes sense - less stitches, less knitting.  I also learned I have short arms.  Guess that goes with my short legs.  They suggested 17 inches for the arms.  I had to stop at 14.
My fear of running out yarn is gone.  I still have 5 skeins left.  It took less that 2 for the sleeve.  All that is left is the button band and collar.  I'm confident I shouldn't have to make a phone call to Knit Picks like a crazy lady.
It's really difficult to photograph this blob right now.  Oh - and it's huge.  I'm OK with that because I wanted a nice oversize sweater.  I'm almost afraid to block it in fear that it will stretch to the floor.

It is now getting way too big to be a traveling project.  So my Halloween socks are getting some love too.
Nicole and I went to Bingo this week in honor of my mother in law who passed away a couple of months ago.  It was one of her favorite things to do.  I was hoping Nicole would be able to experience this with her one day after she turned 18 but it didn't happen.  Bingo stories of my  mother in law are hilarious and we talked about it all night.  It was a great way to remember her.

Joining Ginny on this beautiful Wednesday.

I have to say that having short arms is great for sleeve knitting, I have them too, and the short legs to go with them which I don't want ;(
I'm glad you won't have to be that crazy lady.

The sweater looks great, and I LOVE your Halloween socks and their knitting bag! What an original and really lovely way to remember your MIL. It's wonderful when the pain begins to lessen and you can share the love, laughs, and memories.

Wow those socks are amazing. I have long arms so I always have to knit more but at least they fit me then rather than store bought ones which are always too short :(

Love the cardi and the socks -- wow, that is some color!! :) Bingo... I grew up in a Catholic Pittsburgh family and Bingo was what we did whenever the family got together for the holidays. We played for spare change. :) Both my grandmas were avid Bingo players. I love to play but the family doesn't really care for it anymore. Wish I could've joined you. :)
