Vacation Some More

So our second island on our vacation was St. Thomas.  Now that's a place I would go back to.  Mostly because I didn't see much of it.  Did I mention that I got sick on day 3?  I haven't caught a cold in years. I got the one from hell while on the ship.  So to be quite honest, St; Thomas is a blur.  This was also the island that we had scheduled an excursion - we were sailing on a catamaran to St. John's island.  None of my family believed I would step foot on a sailboat, much less sail for an hour in rough waters.  I was going to prove them wrong.  I am 50 now and I am looking for new adventures! I can't tell you how close I was to canceling because I felt so sick.  But I didn't.

I sat on that boat and instead of snorkeling I was chief photographer.

The water was so pretty.  I didn't really catch a good photo of the color unfortunately.

Nicole got great underwater videos.  We are still messing around with the Go-Pro to see how to download the videos.

We had a leisurely sail back.  It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.  And I didn't get sea sick.

And now I can say I have been sailing.

It's a very mountainous island.  The drive over to the sailboat was very scenic.  It was interesting having to stop for lizards crossing the street.  Fun fact of the day - drinking and driving is NOT illegal in St. Thomas.  But you better have a shirt on.  There's a $75 fine for that.

I'm so sorry you got sick, but glad you still went sailing and enjoyed it, even if it was just a little bit. You're right, you do have to go back!

What a shame you were ill, still now you have the perfect excuse to go back, looks like an amazing place to visit.

Years ago we went on a cruise to San Juan, St Thomas and some other place I cannot remember the name of... I did get a bit seasick, but not bad. I was surprised too!

That's a bummer about your cold but it looks like you rallied and had a good time anyway!

I am lucky to not get sea sick much if at all. I do not like rough rides on anything but it's just a general dislike. love the last photo the best!!
