Ten on Tuesday

Holiday shopping can be a drag.  When you're in a hurry, fear not - here are 10 Gifts You Can Get At The Grocery Store.

1. Fruit basket. Maybe not always the freshest idea as we don't have much in season at this time of year but it's an option.
2. Flowers.  Our local market has some real pretty options.
3. Candles.  They even sell Yankee Candles.
4. Candy.  No explanation needed there.
5. A book.  The selection is not as large as it once was but they still have some.
6. Magazines.  Especially ones about food!
7. Gift cards.  Not just for groceries but for lots of stores.
8. Wine.  It's not an option for us (the package store has the monopoly on that) but you can get a decent bottle of wine in some states.
9. A game.  Utilize that toy section.
10. Lottery tickets.  That's always a fun gift in my book.

Join us at Carole's to get some more festive ideas!

It looks like we shop at the same grocery store (mostly!). I love the magazine idea, and I had it on my list, too. I will never forget being ten years old and getting a rolled up magazine in my Christmas stocking, with a subscription to a horse magazine - one of the best presents ever!

Such a great list. One of my favourite gifts off my daughter is a magazine subscription. The gift that keeps on giving is what we call it.

Magazines are a great idea - so many of those special issues are quite expensive now, to get one as a gift would be a treat.

Great list and thank you for mentioning the lotto tickets, I will have my Mike pick up a few for Alex. I am all done with my shopping and have no plans to go back to town until after Christmas.

Great list. I will peruse the magazine section and pick up lotto tickets for good stocking stuffers!

Good stuff and we give Lottery tickets every Christmas Eve. It's always fun to watch everyone scratch away like little kids. :)

Our market doesn't have books or magazines, but I think it's an excellent addition to a list!
