Yarn Yarn Yarn

Last summer I planted a dye garden.  The plants weren't really ready until late summer and then everything turned upside down and I never really got to do much with it.  This year some miscellaneous plants started popping up so I chopped some up, put it in a jar and added some yarn in cheesecloth and it's sitting on the deck in the sun.  We will see where this goes.  I think it's a weed and I will end up with nothing but it's always fun to try.

In the meantime I sorta bought some yarn.  I got these to make the Cameo shawl.

There's something about blue and brown together.

I got this to make some socks for Mom.  She mentioned her socks had a hole in them.  So birthday socks it will be.

Oh, and there's more.  I just didn't want to seem like that much of a glutton all at once.

My dad asked if I had any spare yarn so donate for a collection going on at my stepmothers place of work.  I handed him a grocery bag full and said "Here ya go". "Oh my, can you spare this much?" he asked.  I explained that I had plenty more where that came from.  He said "Why?".

Oh you non- knitters...............

can't wait to see how your dyeing goes. Stay tuned, right? I love the brown and blue together and I can see why you like it! Lovely socks for your mom and how nice you have spare knitting to spread around to others.

Even if it's a weed, it's a pretty one! I think it's a rule that you have to buy some new yarn to replace your generously donated yarn. :-)

Does your Dad need more? LOL

I think it happens with every hobby you love. Now that I can't knit, it's happening with fabric. Looking forward to seeing the results of your experiment.

I love blue and brown together also!! I send at least 3 boxes of yarn to my sister - every year!!!! And have plenty here for me. I also just took a huge bag to a friend of mine that I used to work with.

And then I went out and bought more - LOL!

You have the prettiest taste in yarns Donna.
I love how you sorta bought some yarn, you make me laugh!
I want to organize my stash, but I need to make sure My Mike
doesn't walk in while it's all out in the open at once, he
doesn't need to know what I have :)

hahaha "oh you non knitters" killing me.

Beautiful yarn. That sock yarn is going to make an excellent pair for your Mom. Lucky lady.

I'm excited to see you knit up the Cameo. I've been eyeing that pattern for a while, like so many others. Your yarn colors look great.

I hope the dying turns out for you, regardless, I think that first photo is really cool.
