Yarn Along

I know many of you were kind of shocked when I said I hadn't knit at all last weekend.  Have no fear - I was not suffering from any kind of sickness.  I was spinning.  On my new Hansen Minispinner.

I had been saving up for this little darling for a while.  I sold a couple of wheels, hung onto the money, went back and forth on whether to spend the money or not.  When I was informed that Hansen was offering free shipping during the month of December that made my decision.  I pressed the button and ordered it.  I love it.  It's so relaxing - so relaxing that I almost fell asleep Saturday night!  So most of my free time has been spent playing with my new toy.

I have been knitting again.  I pulled out my sweater from last year and started working on the sleeves. I made some modifications and I think I will have enough yarn to finish it.

I have to go through my library and see which books catches my eye to start reading again.  I think I'll finish the last Hunger Games book and try to see the movie before it becomes a rental.

Joining Ginny for Yarn Along!

PS - for those who were asking what movie we watched last night we ended up renting The Enforcer.  Not for the squeamish as there is a bit of violence but it was good for some entertainment while spinning.

You have the best toys Donna. I am sitting here wondering if a Hansen Minispinner might be a good idea for my home? Is it easy to use? It doesn't look like it takes up any space at all and I would really love to learn to spin.

It's very compact and sounds like it was a perfect wheel to buy if it has taken you away from knitting!

Oh I would love to learn how to spin! That looks like so much fun. I love the Hunger Games series, I have seen the last movie though. I typically wait for things to come out on rent now.

I love the looks of the Hansen and the fact that it's so compact. Such a pretty yarn color for your sweater.

I want a wheel so bad. Maybe this is a compromise :)))

That is a very cool toy, and I love that it comes in different woods. This may be the thing that pushes me into spinning...

I am so jealous of your Hansen! I can't justify buying one since I hardly ever spin but it seems like a great thing for you!

That toy looks great! I have never seen something like that before but I am new to the world of spinning. New toys are the best.

How fun! I don't spin, but I am fascinated by it. I finally finished Mockingjay a couple of weeks ago and still find myself thinking about it. Happy spinning and knitting! :)

Wow - I love it! I have a drop spindle (I am such a beginner!) and along with learning to knit socks, I am determined to one day spin my own yarn. :)

Okay, this looks like my kind of spinning, except for the cost. Maybe someday! I think I will have to learn on a drop spindle first.

Oh wow, your yarn looks so soft and squishy. I was going to pull out my spindle again and finish up my batch of fiber from last spring.
I would looove a wheel, but I read your last post and saw the price, lol. Think I should make sure I'm really into spinning before making an investment like that. I'm so glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for sharing more information on it in your other post. Enjoy your weekend!
