10 on Tuesday

Well it has begun. The holidays are behind us and reality has set in. We are in winter. The very long grey season of winter. So what to do?  Here's 10 Things I Do To Make Winter Leas Bleak

1. Spend time outside. If the sun is shining and it's in the 40's (and the wind is under control) I'll go outside with my spinning wheel and soak up the sun.
2. Make plans for the summer. There's nothing like making plans to be at the Cape to make winter more bearable.
3. Knit in front of the wood stove. We only use the stove half the year. So I want to enjoy it. That warmth at this time of year feels wonderful.
4. Bake.  I love the smell of bread baking and it goes with Winter in my head.
5. Wear those woolies!  All the things we knit all year are made for this season.  Enjoy them and let them keep you warm.
6.  Plan the fiber festivals.  I get the calendar out and write it all down and figure out which ones I can make.  And then the countdown begins!
7.  Plant something inside.  It reminds me that Spring isn't that far away.
8.  Weekend trips.  We go tubing up in NH or VT.  We explore different towns.  We look forward to those little trips.
9.  Lighting my candles.  I love how they gently light the house.
10.  Watch movies.  As a matter of fact that's on our agenda for tonight!

What do you do to keep the Winter a little less bleak?  Linkup with Carole!

A great list, one of my favourite things is sitting by the stove with some crochet and the smell of newly baked bread to go with a pan of soup.

Knitting in front of the wood stove sounds like heaven, especially if you've also got bread baking. Yum!

These lists are great! I may have to do one. Bake bread! I think I'll add that to my try list this month. Thanks for sharing.

While my winter is way shorter than yours, and just too short for me period, I could have written every single item on you list! I am loving this cold weather :)

If winters weren't so brutal here in Northern Maine, I might like them a bit. ;-)

I knit a lot and we do love day trips and riding around! When the weather is okay of course.
