Green Thumbs

We received our order from High Mowing Seeds a couple of weeks ago.  I had been procrastinating planting them - I had to get the dirt, buy something to plant them in, and figure out a way for Ms. Kitty to not dig them all back up.  Hubby had a brainstorm.  He bought some aluminum trays with plastic lids which will act as a greenhouse.  So Nicole and I planted this weekend.
I filled them with dirt and she planted the seeds.  We planted gourds, watermelon, cucumbers, spinach, large and small pumpkins, and lettuce.
Hubby is in charge of the tomatoes - he usually buys them as plants (we haven't had much luck with seed) and the eggplant.

What have you planted this year?

I planted my seeds on Monday. This will be our first vegetable garden so I'm hoping things grow and flourish! I planted eggplant, lettuce and peppers. I have carrot seeds that I'm going to plant right in the garden (once the garden is dug up). I'm also going to get tomatoes but want to buy the plants rather then start them from seeds.

Ambitious undertaking!!! Good luck!!! I threw some lettuce seed out yesterday--but I'm still cleaning up the mess I didn't clean up last fall!!!! We have had some asparagus from the garden already this year--best thing I ever planted!!! Not sure how big the garden is going to be--we decided to support the Amish community's CSA again this year--and they pretty much kept us in food all spring/summer/fall. Great return on our investment--and NO WORK!!! (I hate the heat and mosquitoes!!!) Will probably put in a couple tomato plants (heirloom) and a few zucchini.

Absolutely nothing. I hate getting my hands dirty! Really. Hate. It.

Gale is my gardening soulmate! I haven't planted anything... but do plan to, just a little! basil, oregano and a few other herbs, plus 3 mixed pots for my deck, and impatiens in my mailbox and on my front steps.

I've never started with seeds. will enjoy watching your garden grow!

Smart woman got your seed order in on time. I am still waiting for many of mine to arrive. Oops! We are planting sugar baby melons too, pumpkins, spinach, lettuce, garlic, a bunch of herds, tomatillos and tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, radishes and carrots. I hope something comes out of it all.
Good luck and have fun!
