of 2006. I can not believe another year has come and gone.
My spinning life lately consists of carding and spinning the black Alpaca
I want to finish it up today and get it plyed so I can spend New Years Day knitting a hat for the hubby.
My haul at Webs was this
I love catching all those back issues of Spin Off. I didn't even know it existed until last year, so I have some major catching up to do.
I really should be working on this
I swear this is the longest knit time for a pair of socks in history! I don't even remember when I started them. Needless to say I didn't get them done for Christmas. Sorry Lisa!

A first time for everything........
Made the annual trip to WEBS (for all who do not live in New England, WEBS is the largest yarn store in the north east - like, a huge store PLUS an entire warehouse full of yarn; yeah, it's basically heaven). I walked out without even a skein of yarn. DO YOU HEAR THAT!!! I walked out with only 4 back issues of Spin Off and 8 oz. of multi roving. I'll post pictures tomorrow. I would have to disconnect the new Ipod to download them and I don't want to disrupt progress right now. It took me long enough to figure out the thing. And I have subscribed to all my favorite podcasts, so I am a happy camper.
Also went to Yankee Candle for their big sale. It was a big downer. Seems each year we trek up north to them and come home with less every time. I got $145 worth of candles for $70, so that's not chicken feed. But I am usually able to find some nice candle holders and stuff for next years x-mas gifts. None to be found this time around.

The start of something new
Hello in blogland! This is my first post to my new blog which I will attempt at keeping updated. A bit about myself - I am a 40 year old wife and mom living in New England. I have been a knitter for about 7 years. Last Christmas I got this from my hubby:
It has been downhill since! I find spinning to be very relaxing. I also got this:

And if my camera batteries were charged, I am afraid to show you what else I recently got. Hint - it spins.
It is two days before Christmas and I am still knitting gifts. I am on sock number one of a pair that needs to be mailed to NY. Guess that's going to be late? I did get the other projects done (3 pairs of socks, 3 hats, a dog sweater, and a wimple) so I guess I should focus on the positive.
As far as spinning I bought some raw alpaca at the NH Woold Tour in October and have been busy cleaning and carding it. I have spun up about 1/3 of the 8 oz. that I bought. My goal was to have it spun and made into a hat for hubby, but alas, another Christmas goal not attained. Thank goodness I have vacation this week!
