Knit Nothing Spin Zero

Yep - that about sums up the creativity in the house lately. I did finish spinning my cotton candy looking batt.

I got the color changes I wanted. It's too darn thin though. I tried to go back and Navajo ply it. Can't be done after the twist is set I'm guessing because it looked like Ramen noodles no matter what I did. So I'm knitting with it as is but I'm not happy with it. I was hoping for bulky yarn - which apparently I'm an epic fail at because as thick as I think I'm spinning at the time - it's still too thin.

My order from Webs came in so I can finish up my Multnomah. The dye lot is different but I think it will work with all the color changes. But I'm not jumping to finish it.

I have been preoccupied with my Nook for sure. I'm still searching for the books I want and it's so easy for me to overbuy so I'm using some restraint here. Wayne found an IPad holder that I can use to prop my nook up while I knit. We found it in 5 Below. What a fun store! I highly suggest a trip if you have one in your area.

And speaking of Wayne (my daughters boyfriend of over 2 years for those who don't know) he graduated high school this past weekend! We had a fun weekend celebrating with his family and it was great to see him reach this milestone.

Weekend Recap

It was a busy weekend in the Knit1Spin2 house.

There was spinning.

I'll start knitting my Nook cover later this week with the yarn.

I knitted on Multnomah.

I am running out of yarn unfortunately. Fortunately Webs has more - and half the price of what I originally paid. I can make it longer now. And that makes me happy.

The highlight of the weekend-

Nicole's lacrosse team won the state finals. It was amazing to see so many people from our little town come out to cheer these girls on. Most of them did not have daughters that were even players. They just wanted to go and support them. It was an experience I don't think any of the girls will forget. I know I won't.

RI Sheep and Wool

Better late than never I always say. RI Sheep and Wool was 2 weeks ago. I went. I saw. I sold. I bought - nothing. You read that right. I bought nothing but fries for lunch. I went as a vendor this year and sold my batts.

They all sold except 5 of them. I just figured whatever didn't sell I would put on the online shop. The few that were left over were colors that I love so I kept them for myself. My favorite was the pink. I made alot of them. And they all sold but two.

I'm spinning them now so I can make a cover for my Nook.

Back to the festival - the weather had been miserable all week and wasn't looking too promising for this day either. Can I just say that the sun came out and it was hot! We were amazed. And relieved. They had lots of great vendors. I was tempted to get some beautiful alpaca fleece but I stopped myself. I have so much in my stash that I can't buy another thing. The truth is that I have very little storage space and even less money to spend these days. But hey - I can just go shopping in my stash pile and be quite satisfied.

Have a great weekend. Ours will be busy with catching up, digging into my stash, prom, and lacrosse. Nicole's team made it to the State Finals and we are super proud of those girls. And it looks like the weather will be on our side as a bonus.
