Progress not perfection

I truly intended to post every day (except the weekends) when I got back into blogging. But this is a knitting blog, so unless I take constant pictures of my projects in progress (which some days isn't much) there isn't always so much to tell. But progress has been happening.

I had a fun day dyeing my sock blanks from Knit Picks. What a blast! I can't wait to see how they knit up. I have to finish the Cricket Love Song Socks first. I am aiming to get those done by tomorrow. Here are the results of the dyeing:

I am soooo close to finishing up the blue/green/purple roving that I am using to knit my cardi. I was on such a role with Tour de Fleece but hadn't been home in 2 days so I didn't get any time on my wheel.

OK - must go knit and spin.

On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

Tour De Fleece starts today. For those who don't know what that is, it runs concurrently with the Tour De France. For us fiberheads, that means spinning for the same length of time the the Tour goes. There are two days off (I forget what they are since I am not planning on taking off anyway). My plan is to finish the roving for the Sprout Cardi first, then not sure what is next. I have a ton of fiber to plow through. Not to mention about 3 fleeces at the processor!

Sadly I have no photos for today, but got "tagged" by Boogie for this Meme (nah, I'm not that special - she just tagged anybody who wanted to do it!)

1. Where was I 10 years go.
I was just about to go into the hospital to have my appendix removed. My daughter was about to turn 3 and we were having a fun summer of potty training. Interesting, huh?

Work on my Cardi
Enjoy my day off
Pray for the sun to come out

4. Things I would do if I were a billionaire.

5. Places I have lived.
Rhode Island and New York

6. Jobs I have had.
Small stint at McDonalds when I was 16. Secretary/Receptionist, Bookkeeper, Human Resources

7. Who would I like to know more about.
Anybody who might want to read this. I love getting to know more about people!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

It's a cloudy day here for the fourth. Only in the 70's. I'm not complaining. As long as it isn't raining I'm good.

I never did post pictures of my completed pi shawl. Here's how it turned out

I spun the yarn and knitted it up in less than 3 weeks. I am pleased with the results. When I was spinning the yarn I wasn't overly happy with the way the colors were turning out. But when it was knitted up I liked it. It is a bit scratchy I will admit.

I am working on my Sprout Cardi now. Here's a not so good picture

It seems to be going slow but steady. I just love those colors.

I got my new cell phone. I bit the bullet and got the AT&T Tilt. I am totally in love with it. It has a 3 Megapixel camera, Wifi internet connection, and all the other fun stuff you could have on a phone. So much to learn on it.

And another addiction. You have to check out plurk. It is similar to Twitter (which I never tried)in that it is like a huge chat room where you can leave bits about your day and talk with other people. I hooked up with other knitters and spinners. I heard about it on Lime and Violet. Speaking of them, they just uploaded another podcast. Gotta go!

A Beach Day!

Well, sort of. It was for my socks in progress though

The kids decided late in the day that they wanted to go swimming so off we went. I stayed in the car and enjoyed the breeze and they got full of salt and sand. And so did my car afterwards. There is some cleaning to be done needless to say!

I have been doing alot of knitting. Those are my DK Knits socks in "Cricket Love Song". I just love the color. One of the few things I got at RI Sheep and Wool.

This weekend we did some new knitting.

Nicole and I spent most of Sunday working on beaded bracelets from Earth Faire. She got so hooked on it we had to run out to Michaels and get more supplies. She is on her third one.

I am hoping to get some spinning done tonight for my Sprout Cardigan. I am praying I have enough yarn. I though I would be safe but I am questioning it now. Keep my fingers crossed!
